La Paz Baja California is the tranquil capital of B.C.S. fueled
by growing population at record pace. The city belies description,
how about "indistinct", how's that? Well it is known
for it's warm summers and windy winters with a safe harbor and
rich marine life which are among it's main attractions.
This year fisherman are enjoying the dorodo biting in record
numbers from nearby Punta Pescadero to Isla Espiritu Santo.
The recent Baja 1000 road race brought a influx that sold out
the hotels throughout the city. The quiet streets of the sleepy
town are bustleing with new restaurants, stores cafes, spinning,
internet shops, malls, theatres and action in support of the
growing and sophisticated population.
A long and significant history and reminders of it's culture
and ties to history of Baja are presented through statuetes,
art and performance. La Paz boasts an ever more "organized"
government and services to connect business to people. The city
is working out it's growing pains slowly but surely day by day.
The city is thriving and how. Even as the City Center grows,
as signigicant is the growth of comfortable new residential
neighborhoods surrounding the city.
La Paz is a nice place, in fact it's an especially nice place
to return to when venturing out on short trips to the many surrounding
beaches and islands. 360 degrees of beaches line the Bay and
Coast. The location on the Baja peninsula is at the most narrow
point, from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific ocean is a mere
30 kilometers - about 1 hour by car.
